New models of Honda cars in 2019-2020 as part of the Frankfurt Motor Show 2019 introduced the Honda Urban EV Concept – a harbinger of a serial electric city car. In our review, the concept electric car Honda Urban EB – the first news, photos, video and equipment of a compact city hatchback with an electric power plant, is preparing in a serial version to enter the European market as early as 2020.
Compact electric hatchback Honda Urban EV is built on the newest platform of Honda Motors and will be placed in the line of the Japanese manufacturer just below the five-door hatchback Honda Jazz . According to preliminary information, the overall length of the car body Urban EV will be less than 4 meters, with a distance between the axes of 2340 mm.
The manufacturer does not disclose information about the technical filling of the show car, but he is very eager to talk about the exterior design of the bodywork and the four-seat electric two-door saloon, apparently because the concentration of the Honda Urban EV does not look like the bulk of electric cars.
Virtually all modern electric vehicles in pursuit of a low coefficient of aerodynamic drag of the body demonstrate a fantastic design – “an alien from the future”, but not Honda’s concept with its classic image of a compact hatchback. Automobile journalists, by the way, already had time to call the novelty a retro electric car.
The new development of Honda really looks from the outside like a hatchback from the 90s of the 20 century with the right and harmonious proportions of the body. However, super modern chips also suffice: LED headlights and headlamps with LED filling, interactive screens on the front of the falshradiatron grille and rear between the headlights, on the hood there is a charging port for recharging.
It should be noted that the show car is equipped with a charging station Power Manager, which allows not only to recharge the battery of the car, but also provide electricity to the “smart house”, or to transfer energy to the city network.
For comfortable and comfortable landing in the four-seater cabin of stylish Honda Urban EV Concept there are two large doors opening against the motion of the car (also a hint of a retro car). But the salon is not from the past and not from the present, but from the future. In this case, wool fabric (chairs, door cards, floor and ceiling upholstery), natural wood from the front panel, and decorative aluminum inserts are used as finishing materials.
From the equipment it would be desirable to note a steering wheel of the original form, a panoramic color screen on the front panel and a pair of color displays located on the door cards (show the picture from the rear view cameras replacing the traditional exterior mirrors).
The Japanese concept also boasts the presence of an artificial intelligence in the form of a concierge – the Honda Automated Network Assistant system monitors and analyzes the driver’s behavior and preferences in order to eventually offer the best advice on how to manage the car and its equipment.
