Parker Hyundai ix25 is sold in China for the third year and is used by local car enthusiasts, although not high, but stable demand. At the end of 2015, 102,755 were sold, and in 2016, 11,348 cars were found by their buyers (leaders in the SUV class in the Chinese market were Haval H6 with a result of 580,683, GAC Trumpchi GS4 with 326096 units and Baojun 560 with 321555 cars sold for 2016 year).
In the Russian market Hyundai ix25 brother Hyundai Creta crossover in 2016, one of the leaders in sales among crossovers with the result of 21929 copies, and this despite the start of sales only in the middle of the year. Better sold only Renault Duster – 44001 cars, Toyota RAV 4 – 30603 cars, Chevrolet Niva – 29844 copies and the ever-popular Lada 4×4 – 27274 pcs.
In 2020, Hyundai Kreta (Greta) unconditional leader in sales of crossovers in Russia: in July 3202 new Korean parkets were sold, and in the six months of this year 27345 copies.
So the update of the Chinese Hyundai ix25, in our opinion, is more interesting for Russian motorists than for the Chinese, with an eye to the sales of the model. Perhaps in a few months, Hyundai Creta for the market will change in a similar scenario.
Changes in the exterior design of the updated crossover, by the way, are minimal. It is not necessary to say that designers have done some great work. After all, in fact, we have before us the Brazilian version of the Hyundai Creta, introduced in the fall of 2016, but with an even larger falshradiator grille supporting the edges of the headlamp headlamp, as well as a stylish front bumper with horizontal fog lights and ribbons of LED navigation lights placed under them.
The forage of the updated crossover flaunts modernized overall lights with a different stuffing and a more solid bumper with a double-barreled trapezoidal tailpipe attachment and longer fog lamps that extend over the side of the bumper. Here, in principle, and all the changes found on the body of the renovated Créty.
It only remains to add that the installation of new bumpers has increased the overall length of the body of the crossover by 20 mm compared with the pre-reform model to 4290 mm, while the dimensions of the wheelbase, of course, have not changed and amount to 2590 mm.
Innovations in the cabin of the Korean compact crossover Hyundai ix25 (Hyundai Creta) can simply be counted on the fingers, with one hand. In the presence of a newly created and more informative instrument panel with pointer indicators of fuel and coolant temperature (previously used draw scales), the alarm button took the place of the digital clock and placed above the screen of the multimedia system – that’s all.
On the appearance of new decorative elements in the cabin, better materials for finishing and a richer set of options, you can not say (traditional changes when updating any car). However, it is worth noting a few very useful and convenient for the driver options: the ventilation of the driver’s seat and the camera in the right rear view mirror, greatly facilitating parking (the image is displayed on the screen of the multimedia system).
Technical characteristics of the updated Hyundai ix25 2019-2020. Perhaps the most important change for the model occurred in the engine compartment of the crossover. The updated crossover is now offered with two petrol engines.
- The initial basic engine is atmospheric 1.6 Gamma (125 HP 151 Nm) paired with 6 manual gearboxes or 6 automatic transmissions.
- A more powerful turbocharged 1.4 T-GDI Kappa engine (140 HP 242 Nm), paired with a 7-step robotic DCT transmission.
Atmospheric 2.0-liter engine (160 HP 192 Nm) and turbocharged 1.6-liter T-GDI Gamma (160 HP 250 Nm) were sent into retirement. Interestingly, having lost the 2.0-liter atmospheric engine, the Chinese version of Henday Creta remained without a full drive. So from now on all versions of the crossover are exclusively with the front-wheel drive. The front suspension is independent with McPherson struts, and the rear suspension is semi-independent with a torsion bar.
